The Residual Of The Human Rights Era Has Turned Toxic
and the damage it's doing to younger generations is incalculable.
Fighting for equality is a huge part of our history. Whether it’s emancipation, universal suffrage, gay marriage, these are all things that have become commonly accepted as good, even amongst most people on the right side of politics. Somehow though, our society hasn’t moved on from the idea that we need to find new ways for people to be empowered, outside of hard work and contributing to society in positive ways. Actually the contrary has now become popular in many left leaning circles. Many now believe that hard work and sacrifice were never actually something that was a part of what made our society great, but that instead it’s a myth that these ideas create strong, moral people. Instead they believe that white men have enjoyed a life of luxury based off other people’s hard work, and now it is other people’s turn to cash in.
One example of this is how sex work has been glorified by the new wave of feminism. Instead of just trying to create a safe environment to cut down on abuse and trafficking, it has actually turned into something where women are glorifying sex work as being empowering. You see in the narratives spun by the women pushing it how it has become a way for women to now take advantage of men, instead of the way it was viewed in the past, which is the very opposite. It has created a sub-culture of women who are actively seeking to have a life where their main goal is to get as much money out of men as possible by using their body. This has been made easier by websites like PornHub and OnlyFans, where women can produce their own pornography for profit. The problem is, this is reinforcing the very stereotype that powerful women have been fighting for decades, that men are just wallets and not equals in a relationship.
The issue with this is that it supports the idea that women should get into these extremely unhealthy relationships with men. It encourages them to not face any issues they may have with men or masculinity, and forgo a healthy relationship with men. This is bad for women, because this is creating more and more men who only see women as sex objects, and with the encouragement of women! This is a re-introduction of toxic masculinity into our society by women who should be fighting it.
Next is racism in our society. The people who are championing equity today are doing it in the most toxic way possible. They are telling young kids that there is a hierarchy of race in society, and that they will be treated differently because of their skin colour. They are teaching this as an inevitability with the idea of systemic racism, not a possibility. These people, many of which are minorities, are also making millions selling this idea, but it’s the very idea that their ancestors fought to abolish. They are reinforcing racial stereotypes like black people aren’t punctual, or that hard work is a sign of white supremacy. Also within law enforcement, that being tough on crime is rooted in white supremacy. How this has become not only acceptable but praised by the left in a society that claims to abhor racism is sickening. Yet again you see the common theme, it’s about trying to reverse perceived power structures, it’s about excusing immoral behaviour to make up for past injustices.
All of this has an “It’s our time now” feeling to it, but that was never the point of equality. At the end of the day, this is going to hurt the people pushing it more than anyone else, because at the end of the day life isn’t about how much money you have in the bank, it’s about your mental health. It’s about being able to live with yourself and your actions. It’s also leading a new generation of women and minorities away from things like taking education and stable relationships seriously, and those are two of the most important factors in having a long, stable, successful life. Not only in how much money you make, but the life you have lived.
